Education, Training and Resettlement

The UKJSU employs an Education, Training and Resettlement Clerk (ETRC) who covers training and resettlement aspects for all personnel and IOSDETS. The training aspects focus on the co-ordination of training development, the provision of welfare related education courses which range from GCSE to RSA and EDCL, and provision of cultural courses such as Basic German. The UKJSU has 2 classrooms equipped with a number of tools to enhance learning.

Resettlement

For those reaching the end of their service career, the ETRC will assist personnel in their liaison with a Regional Resettlement Advisor. Resettlement Briefings and Interviews are arranged every 2 months in the UKJSU, dates are published in advance and via the Unit Routine Orders. Briefings and Interviews can be arranged for those personnel at or approaching their 2 year point, or for those who have already registered for resettlement services and are in their last 6-9 months of service. Personnel are reminded that attendance at an initial Resettlement Briefing is mandatory for Airmen and that a Final Interview is as well. A resettlement service is also available to personnel considering PVR and for those discharged under other QR's such as on medical grounds.

Children's Education

Children of infant/primary age attend St David's School in Ramstein village and a school bus service is provided by the MT section. More information on children's education can be found via the Hive link.
