HOUSING:

NAPLES – Married Accompanied personnel, Single & married unaccompanied officers, senior ranks and UK based teachers are allocated a Government Hiring according to their entitlement in Lago Patria and close by Varcaturo and Licola areas.  Hirings are fitted with satellite dishes for viewing British Forces Broadcasting Service and each hiring has an alarm system connected by radio link to a Security Company which also carries out regular patrols.  Single male and female Junior Ranks live in apartments at Pinetamare (approx 8 kms from Lago Patria).

MILAN.  Other ranks are housed in Government Hirings in the tourist village Porto Cerisio, close to Lake Lugano which is 45mins drive from the Base. Officers are also live in Government Hirings within the Varese area – a small town approx 20kms from the Base.

ROME  NDC Students are accommodated in a block flats within the military campus.  Permanent staff, Exchange personnel and Embassy staff are housed in accommodation using the Overseas Rental Allowance (ORA) scheme.  Individuals search for housing which is suitable to rank and within a rental price ceiling.
