WELFARE & RECREATIONAL
HIVE. On request, the Rheindahlen HIVE will send information packs to prospective new arrivals. The HIVE provides a wealth of information on living in the local community and on things to do and see in Germany. For further information and contact details visit their website on www.hive-bfg.co.uk.
Sporting Facilities. JHQ’s comprehensive list of sporting facilities include: a 50 metre heated outdoor swimming pool, a floodlit astro turf pitch, fitness centre, 2 gymnasiums numerous tennis courts, football and rugby pitches, athletics track and stadium, cricket pitch and pavilion, riding stables, mini golf, 18 hole golf course on Elmpt Station (20 minutes) and Sailing Club in Roermond (30 minutes)
Recreational Facilities. These include a cinema, 10 pin bowling centre, youth club, saddle club, 2 community centres as well as the messes and servicemen’s clubs.
Community Events. There are numerous social events throughout the year organised by units and messes as well as the plethora of clubs and societies that flourish on JHQ. These range from RSU sponsored events such as the Picnic in the Park and Bonfire night to Amateur Dramatics Society productions and British-German events.
Rheindahlen Support Unit Community Welfare Centre
The Rheindahlen Support Unit Community Welfare Centre is located in the shopping area of the Rheindahlen Military Complex (RMC), behind the Church Centre in Building 44. This Welfare Office provides welfare support and assistance to the military personnel in the following units within the RMC:

Families Administration
The administration section of this Welfare Centre also provide some of the family documentation that you will require whilst you are posted to this part of BFG. This includes issue of Temporary ID cards, Authority for Visits of Close Relatives and IACS forms, (for access to US Bases).
Community Support
The Community Support function in this facility provides Matrix testing (Tick Testing) for dependants. Activities and trips can be booked here. Indoor and outdoor play areas for children of all ages are also located at the centre. Both the play areas and the activity rooms can be booked for private functions.
The RSU Community Welfare Centre also controls a Contact House, which is open to all service personnel, entitled civilians and their close relatives. Welfare cases and single service personnel who wish to exercise contact rights with their children will be given priority, but when available it can be used during transit, R&R and visits by close relatives etc.
A Station Welcome Brief is held here on the 1st Wednesday of every month. This brief is for the benefit of new arrivals to Rheindahlen Station.
Pet Registration
The Pet Application Form which can be found on the Forms page of this website. This form should be completed and forwarded to the Pet Registration Clerk prior to arrival.
A Dog registration appointment application is to be completed within two days of arrival in order to comply with German Legislation.
